Best for: Aperitivo vibes
Located in the centre, Pops Aperitivo surprised me in the best way. I went for a creative version of a Pornstar Martini that came with a lollipop – yes, really. The foam on top? So velvety, it felt engineered. I’ve only tried one cocktail so far, but I’m already planning my return. They also serve pinsas and pasta, so it’s ideal for a drink and a bite. Cocktails are around 14 €, and the atmosphere is on point.
Smash Ljubljana
Best for: Juicy Burgers and Perfect Cocktails
Located in the heart of Ljubljana, Smash is primarily known for the burgers and some of the best fries in the city. However, what truly stands out here is their cocktail menu, which is a hidden gem. From the Paloma to the Pornstar Martini, every drink at Smash is crafted to perfection. With cocktails priced between €8 and €10, you’re guaranteed a great value for your money. If you’re hungry, pair your drink with one of their burgers for the perfect experience.
B Bar - InterContinental Ljubljana
Best for: Rooftop views & elegant signature cocktails
Perched on the rooftop of the InterContinental Ljubljana, B Bar brings a touch of luxury to your cocktail night. Their menu rotates regularly, so there’s always something new to try – like the one I had with Slovenian honey (so good). They’ve got the classics too if you’re feeling traditional. With stunning city views, friendly staff, and cocktails around 14 €, this spot is perfect for a special evening out.
Ferdinand Bar
Best for: Creative Cocktails in a Chill Atmosphere
For a laid-back cocktail experience, head to Ferdinand Bar in the charming Gornji Trg. This bar is the epitome of Ljubljana’s cool, relaxed vibe, offering a menu of unique and creative cocktails. The Matcha Sour is a delightful twist on the classic sour, while the Ferdo cocktail is an unexpected delight for those in search of something new. With prices around €7.50, Ferdinand offers great drinks in a cozy setting that’s perfect for a relaxed evening out with friends.
Vrt
Best for: An Urban Oasis in the City Center
Right in the heart of Ljubljana’s city center, Vrt provides a cozy, intimate atmosphere that feels like a hidden oasis. Here, the cocktails are priced at €9.50, and their Pornstar Highball and Strawberry Fizz are the perfect mix of refreshing and flavorful. If you’re looking for a serene escape with great drinks, Vrt Belivolk is the spot to be.
Playa BTC
Best for: Affordable sips during a shopping break
If you find yourself doing some retail therapy at BTC, make a pit stop at Playa. It’s laid-back & fun. I tried my usual Pornstar Martini, which was a bit on the sweeter side, but not bad at all. With cocktails priced from 6–7 €, it’s a great place to relax before diving back into the shops.
Joe Peña’s
Best for: Mexican Cuisine and Margaritas
If you’re craving Mexican food and cocktails in one go, Joe Peña’s is the place to be. Famous for its fresh guacamole made right at your table, this lively spot is also famous for its margaritas.The Mango Margarita is a must-try. The Mango Piña Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri are also solid options, though the Mango Piña Colada might be a bit sweet for some tastes. Cocktails here are priced around €8, making it a great spot to sip and snack.
Kader Kodeljevo
Best for: A Cocktail Party Vibe
A bit off the beaten path, Kader Kodeljevo offers a great mix of daily lunches and fun parties, located in the stunning Castle Kodeljevo. With over 20 cocktails to choose from, we recommend the Pornstar Martini—a refreshing choice that blends perfectly with the lively atmosphere. Cocktails start at €7 here, making it a great option for both casual drinkers and partygoers.
Kolibri Bar
Best for: Speakeasy Vibes and Seasonal Cocktails
For those in search of something special, Kolibri Bar is a hidden gem with a speakeasy vibe. Known for its ever-changing seasonal cocktail menu, this bar offers a new experience with each visit. Though drinks here are on the pricier side (€14), it’s well worth it for the quality and creativity of the cocktails. If you love unique and artful drinks, Kolibri should be on your list.
Nebo Show Restaurant
Best for: Glam Nights and Great Shows
Nebo Show Restaurant is the place to go if you’re in the mood to dress up and enjoy a night out in style. With cabaret performances, DJ sets, and a fine dining atmosphere, it’s more than just a cocktail spot, it’s an experience. Their cocktails are well-made and reasonably priced at around €10, making it a great pick for a classy evening in Ljubljana.
Zorica Bar
Best for: Cool Events and Laid-Back Vibes
Zorica Bar is a relaxed, artsy place that always has something going on, from techno nights to swing dance parties. It’s casual but full of character, and their cocktails (especially when it’s not too crowded) are delicious and affordable, ranging from €6–8.
